ABOUT NARROW RIVER AND NARROW RIVER KAYAKS Narrow River Kayaks was the vision of the late Robert Ryder and established in
1992. Since then it has served as a means for many to enjoy one of the most unique and beautiful waterways in the area.
The Pettaquamscutt Watershed area provides
a number of options for paddlers of all ages and abilities. One can paddle a short distance to the beach and ocean
to ride the waves, fish, picnic, or just relax. Also a short distance from our location are Pettaquamscutt Cove
and the John H. Chafee Wildlife refuge. Those wishing to paddle longer distances can venture upstream
to the kettle ponds and Gilbert Stuart Birthplace. Narrow
River Kayaks has a fleet of over 75 kayaks and canoes, so we can accommodate groups of just about any size. Whether
you're looking to spend a couple of hours on the river or a full day, our friendly, helpful and experienced staff will provide
you with everything needed for a safe and enjoyable experience on Narrow River. With average river depths of only 1-4 feet and access to the ocean, the Narrow River is the best
place in the state for beginners and advanced kayakers.
Narrow
River Kayaks is located only one nautical mile to where the river meets the ocean! Take a picnic lunch or play in the surf
at Narragansett Beach! Narrow River Kayaks offers you a launch directly
into the unique Narrow River. The Narrow River is comprised of a tidal inlet and salt marsh, an estuary, a fjord-like pond,
a freshwater pond, and a river. The wildlife refuge is right at our front door! For
a comfortable day of paddling, we suggest you bring shoes and shorts that can get wet, a hat, sunscreen, and a towel.
It is also a good idea to bring a change of clothes to leave in your car. Narrow
River Kayaks also sells an assortment of accessories including dry bags, waterproof containers, pfd's, paddles, paddle leashes,
tow ropes, sunglass lanyards, boat sponges, and foam blocks and straps for kayak and canoe transportation. We also sell
many of our kayaks at the end of season. All rentals include paddle, pfd
(personal flotation device), and basic instruction. Outdoor
shower, changing tent, and portable restrooms on site. Narrow
River Kayaks now accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Try
Narrow River Cafe located directly across the street. The cafe serves breakfast and lunch daily.
We also carry ice cream, cold drinks, and snacks. Fuel up with a quality meal before your outing or we can package one
to take with you on the water!

We look forward to seeing you soon, and if you have any questions,
please do not hesitate to give us a call!
