TIDES & WEATHER
Narrow River is a tidal inlet and therefore impacted by tides and current. Depending
on which way you go and what time, it can have an impact on how much energy you'll have to exert during your paddle.
THE CURRENT AT THE MOUTH OF NARROW RIVER IS VERY STRONG AND SHOULD BE AVOIDED, ESPECIALLY BY NOVICE PADDLERS. AS A GENERAL
RULE OF THUMB, KNOW YOUR LIMITS AND AVOID PADDLING YOURSELF INTO A SITUATION YOU CANNOT PADDLE OUT OF.
There are no official tide charts for Narrow River. The closest official tide
chart to Narrow River is for the Narragansett Pier. Tidal times at Narrow River Kayaks (Middlebridge) run approximately
1.5-2 hours after the Narragansett Pier tidal times, sometimes more, sometimes less. In most cases, you will
be paddling against the current or wind at some point of your outing. These times may vary depending on wind, moon,
time of year and other factors. Weather may change at any time and the conditions at Narrow River Kayaks may be very different
from the conditions outside your front door. It is always a good idea to check the weather forecast before setting
